Continuing to iron out issues

Hello all, just wanted to make a quick update to show i am alive and the project is moving forward.

Recently, i had to make a lot of revisions and changes to combat lifter based on the injection molding that will occur. i have no past experience with injection molding so all of this is quite new to me, and go figure, there are actually quite a lot of rules that have to be followed for the molds to work right.

We are now on revision 10-ish and I think we've nailed it on the head with this one. that means that production should start sometime this month with samples being made and tested sometime at the start of next month. i

Timeline

• ✅ Finish combat lifter files 
• ❌ Begin production and first samples
• ❌ Test samples
• ❌ begin full-scale production + figure out more fulfillment
• ❌ ship products to fulfillment agent
• ❌ fufill products to backers

Last chance to finish your surveys

Hello everyone, we have reached the point where manufacturers need exact numbers to produce and i've got to start to look at fulfillment for the items. to get the final numbers for these the backer-kit survey will be closed and charged on the 30th.  if you have not filled out your survey or paid for your shipping please do so immediately.  if you have problems, send us a message.

Survey Smoke Tests Going Out!

Hello Everyone! we are finally getting there. Manufacturing is still underway so I don't have samples to show just yet, but in other good news, the Smoke Test Survey will be going out today. It's a sort of test run to the surveys to catch any errors that might exist in them. If you receive one, please fill them out and if there are any problems drop a support request through backerkit.

if you don't receive one, do not fret, the other surveys will be coming out later this week.

In the survey, don't forget to:

• double-check your shipping address, this is super important, please please make sure it is 100% correct before submitting.
• Purchase any extra Combat-Lifter sets you wish! this is the last chance you will get the pack at a discounted price, so make sure to seize the moment.
• Make sure all your items are correct before submitting and paying shipping fees.

Extra information you should know

Backerkit only allows us to charge a standard rate instead of a calculated one. when we have a final picture of the shipping cost on the day of shipping I will be refunding the difference back to each supporter or eating the extra cost if there is any.

i should also mention, Each combat lifter is an entire package weighing 1.5kg and coming in at 310*250*450mm(L*W*H) a box. shipping wise they are big and heavy and i have already done the work to get the shipping as low as possible. Again you can rest assured that if there is a difference in price, the difference will be returned but the economy and current situation has pushed shipping prices to all-time highs

If your friend in China wanted to send you a package about the size of combat lifter to your house in canada, it would cost about this much from fedex, per unit.

The good news, and the bad news

The Bad

Let's start off with the bad news, what's happening in the world is drastically affecting the quoted prices of the original project. Due to the economy, high-interest rates, wars and manufacturing limitations we have seen our original quotes rise about 20-30%... Not just that, but shipping rates have also increased in the last months as well. Overall, not a fantastic thing for a project like this one.

So, instead of pushing that cost onto you guys, we're going to take on the cost of the increase ourselves but in doing so we are not going to be able to offer the 4x4 base expansions at this time. I know, it sucks, and we don't want to do it but unfortunately were going to have to if we want to afford to get some basic sets to you guys. we're super sorry if you guys were hyped about that expansion (just like we were). 

those of you who have made pledges at a level that includes a bonus set will instead be shipped another basic set box instead.

The Good

Well, enough of the sad stuff, and onto the good stuff. Everything is underway! that's right, we've got our manufacturer sorted out, the packaging is built and molds are being produced. I'll keep you updated as more things get a bit further but I'm sure you're all glad to know that your pledges will be shipped to your doors someday soon.  Currently, I'm just getting shipping estimates and creating the survey which you will be able to fulfill your order through. Look for those in your mail within the next week!

Working Working Working

It's been a while since the last update, I want to let you all know I'm still working on everything but the back and forth from manufacturers have been taking a while. Trying to balance getting the best materials for the best cost, as well as making sure everything looks amazing is challenging while communicating with only email but rest assured all is going well. 

The good news is, I've learned a lot about plastic types and such and I think the product will end up better than expected. Way clearer and better looking. 

Anyways, not much to report yet, and i don't want to reveal TOO much before everything is set in stone, so hold out a bit longer. I promise to make an awesome update when things get a bit further ahead.
